Delete your data
Last updated:
Tundra keeps your app data on your computer. We do not hold a copy of it or have access to delete it for you. To remove it, follow these steps. If you have emailed us, see Data we hold below to request deletion of that correspondence.
- Delete Tundra's folder and saved passwords from your computer.
- Cancel Tundra's access at Google or Microsoft.
- Ask any AI provider you used to delete what you sent it, if you want that.
Deleting is permanent. We keep no copy and cannot restore anything. If you might want your mail later, check that it is still on your provider's server (it normally is), or export what you need first.
Remove a single account
In Tundra, open Settings → Accounts and remove the account. Tundra deletes that account's mail, calendar events, contacts and drafts from its database and deletes its password or sign-in token from your computer's credential store. Your Journal, assistant conversations, the assistant's saved memory, notes and snippets stay. Cached images and attachment files, and backups that Tundra made earlier in the profile folder, may still contain that account's data; to remove those too, delete everything as described below.
Removing an account in Tundra does not change anything on your mail server. Your mail stays with Google, Microsoft or your provider.
Delete everything on macOS
- If Launch at login is on, turn it off in Settings → General. Then quit Tundra (Tundra menu → Quit, or ⌘Q).
- In Finder, choose Go → Go to Folder, type
~/.tundra-mail, and move that folder to the Trash. - Also move the app window's web-engine folders to the Trash:
~/Library/WebKit/com.wails.Tundra Mail,~/Library/Caches/com.wails.Tundra Mail,~/Library/HTTPStorages/com.wails.Tundra Mail(andcom.wails.Tundra Mail.binarycookiesbeside it) and the file~/Library/Preferences/com.wails.Tundra Mail.plist. Older builds usedcom.wails.tundra-mailin the same places. Empty the Trash. - Open Keychain Access (in Applications → Utilities), search for
tundra-mail, and delete every item it finds. - Drag Tundra from Applications to the Trash.
In Terminal, steps 2 to 4 are:
rm -rf ~/.tundra-mail
rm -rf ~/Library/WebKit/com.wails.Tundra\ Mail ~/Library/Caches/com.wails.Tundra\ Mail ~/Library/Preferences/com.wails.Tundra\ Mail.plist ~/Library/HTTPStorages/com.wails.Tundra\ Mail*
rm -rf ~/Library/WebKit/com.wails.tundra-mail ~/Library/Caches/com.wails.tundra-mail ~/Library/Preferences/com.wails.tundra-mail.plist ~/Library/HTTPStorages/com.wails.tundra-mail*

- If Launch at login is on, turn it off in Settings → General. Then quit Tundra.
- Press Windows + R, type
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Tundra Mail, press Enter, then delete that folder. If you have a folder named.tundra-mailin your user folder (%USERPROFILE%\.tundra-mail), delete it too. Also delete%APPDATA%\tundra-mail.exe, where the app window's web engine keeps its data. - Open Credential Manager (search for it in the Start menu), choose Windows Credentials, and under Generic Credentials remove every entry whose name starts with
tundra-mail:. - Delete the Tundra app, or uninstall it from Settings → Apps if you used an installer.
In PowerShell, step 3 is:
cmdkey /list | Select-String 'tundra-mail:' | ForEach-Object { $t = ($_ -split 'target=')[1].Trim(); cmdkey /delete:$t }Delete everything on Linux
- If Launch at login is on, turn it off in Settings → General. Then quit Tundra.
- Delete the folder
~/.local/share/tundra-mail(or$XDG_DATA_HOME/tundra-mailif you set that variable). If you have a folder named~/.tundra-mail, delete it too. Also delete~/.cache/tundra-mail, the app window's web-engine cache. If the file~/.config/autostart/tundra-mail.desktopexists, delete it. - Open your keyring app (for example Passwords and Keys, also called Seahorse, or KWalletManager), search for
tundra-mail, and delete every item it finds. - Delete the Tundra app or uninstall its package.
In a terminal, steps 2 and 3 are:
rm -rf ~/.local/share/tundra-mail ~/.tundra-mail ~/.cache/tundra-mail ~/.config/autostart/tundra-mail.desktop
secret-tool clear service tundra-mailCancel Tundra's access to your accounts
Deleting Tundra from your computer does not cancel the access you gave it at sign-in. Do that at the provider:
- Google (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts): open myaccount.google.com/connections, choose Tundra Mail, and remove its access. If you signed in through your own Google Cloud project, remove that project's app instead.
- Microsoft personal accounts (Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live): open account.live.com/consent/Manage, choose Tundra Mail, and remove it.
- Microsoft work or school accounts (Microsoft 365): open myapps.microsoft.com and remove Tundra Mail if it is listed there, or ask your administrator to remove it.
- IMAP and CalDAV accounts: if you created an app password for Tundra, delete it in your provider's security settings, or change your password.
- ChatGPT: in Tundra, open Settings → Models and click Disconnect Codex (the trash button) on the Codex, ChatGPT plan card. This removes the sign-in from your computer. To end it at OpenAI too, sign out that session in your OpenAI account settings.
Data held by AI providers and other services
If you used a cloud AI provider, a web search service, an MCP server or a transcription server, the content Tundra sent it is held by that service under its own terms. We cannot reach or delete it. To delete it, use that service's own settings or ask it directly, and delete any API key you created for Tundra in that service's console.
